What is OJEE?

OJEE is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the OJEE Cell for admission to B.Pharm, MBA/PGDM, MCA, and M.Tech courses. The exam is held in two modes – Paper-based test and Computer-based test modes for different papers. Based on OJEE 2020 scores, candidates can apply for admission to various programs offered by OJEE participating colleges.

OJEE or Odisha Joint Entrance Exam is also conducted for admission to Lateral Entry B.Tech, MBA, MCA/Lateral Entry MCA courses.

OJEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

OJEE Eligibility Criteria 2020 varies for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The minimum eligibility to apply for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs is:

  • A candidate must have completed 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized board to apply for undergraduate courses
  • A candidate must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree from a relevant stream to apply for lateral entry courses
  • A candidate must be a graduate in any relevant discipline from a recognized university.

OJEE 2020 eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses

  1. B.Pharma – Candidates should have qualified 10+2 examination in science stream with a minimum aggregate score of 45 percent. No prescribed age limit for admission to B.Pharma program
  2. BHMS/BAMS – Candidates should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks in all three subjects taken together. The prescribed lower age limit is 17 years as on December 31, 2018.

Note: OJEE exam is not conducted for admission to MBBSBDSBE/B.Tech. The applicants will be admitted based on NEET and JEE Main respectively.

OJEE 2020 eligibility criteria for postgraduate courses

  1. MBA – The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline or equivalent or bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy of four years duration with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks. Students in their final year are also eligible to apply. No prescribed age limit is defined for MBA programmes.
  2. M.Tech – The candidates must have obtained a minimum 50 percent or above in their graduation from a relevant discipline. Students in final year of qualifying examination can also apply. No age limit is prescribed for admission to M.Tech programs.
  3. MCA – Candidate should have completed their graduation of a minimum of three years duration in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent and should have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or undergraduate level. Final years students are also eligible to apply for MCA. There is no age bar for admission to MCA programme.
  4. M.Arch – Candidates should have completed their bachelor’s in Architecture with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent. Candidate in the final year of qualifying exam can also apply. No age limit is prescribed by the OJEE board for admission.
  5. M.Pharma – Candidates must have completed their graduation in Pharmacy with at least 50 percent or more. No age bar is defined by the board for admission. Final year students can also apply.

OJEE 2020 Participating Colleges

OJEE is a state level entrance exam and the scores are used for admission to both government and private institutes in the state of Odisha. Last year, 89 institutes offered admission to B.Tech courses based on OJEE scores while 63 institutes offered admission to MBA courses.

OJEE 2020 Admission Process

Candidates can check below the sequence of the entire admission process for OJEE 2020, starting from OJEE 2020 registration and application form filling until seat allotment and reporting at the allotted institutes.

Step 1: OJEE Registrations

  • The candidates need to register online for OJEE 2020 on the official website of OJEE Cell
  • Fill the application form with all the required details carefully
  • Pay the application fee. The OJEE 2020 registration fee is Rs 1000. In case, candidates are applying for a combination of papers such as M.Tech and MBA or MBA and MCA then the fee will be Rs 1500. Candidates can pay the fee through Netbanking, Debit/credit card or Offline via SBI challan.

Step 2: Download Admit Card

  • Download OJEE 2020 Admit Cards from the official website and read the instructions on the admit card carefully
  • If there is an error on the admit card, immediately report to the OJEE Cell

Step 3: Appear for OJEE 2020 Exam

OJEE 2020 will be conducted in two modes, online and offline. Candidates have to appear for the exam and reach the exam center at least one hour before the commencement of the exam.

Step 4: Download OJEE 2020 Answer Keys published by the OJEE Cell

OJEE Cell will release the answer keys for OJEE 2020 question paper on the official website. Candidates can also download the scorecard from the official website itself.

There is no change in the total number of exam centers or any of the individual test cities for OJEE 2020 from its previous edition. In total, 21 cities across the state of Odisha are designated as OJEE 2020 Exam Centres.

OJEE 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

  1. Make sure that you are carrying the OJEE 2020 admit card to the exam center as candidates will not be allowed inside the exam center without the admit card
  2. Reach the test center at least an hour before the exam timings to check for the seating plan and complete frisking formalities at the entry gate. No candidate will be allowed entry in the exam center at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

  1. It is also advised that the candidates should not carry any food item, as they are prohibited in the examination hall

A. All the candidates need to appear in JEE Main for admission to B.Tech courses at any of the Odisha state colleges. OJEE Cell will conduct a centralized admission process for admission to B.Tech courses across all the participating institutes.

Last year, 8 government and 81 private engineering institutes participated in the counseling process. The cell will release the seat matrix for admission to the 2019-20 session before the start of the counseling process. Candidates need to take part in the counseling process and apply for admission to the allotted colleges.

Q. Can students from any part of the country apply for OJEE 2019?

A. No, applicants must be a domicile of the state of Odisha to be eligible to apply for OJEE 2019.

However, there is a 3 percent reservation under OL (Outlying Odia) category. This applies to all the Odia speaking candidates residing outside the state of Odisha and is applicable to all the government engineering colleges in the state. Such candidates will apply with their JEE Main Rank under the outside state category.

Q. What is the marking scheme for OJEE 2020 (MBA)?

A. For MBA, a total of 120 questions will be asked from five sections and the total duration of the exam will be two hours. Here is the section-wise distribution of questions in OJEE 2019 for MBA:

Q. What is the seat reservation policy in OJEE 2020?

A. There is a five percent relaxation in the minimum aggregate marks required for candidates from SC/ST categories for all the courses offered through OJEE. Also, candidates falling under the various reserved categories are entitled to seat reservations in various colleges. There is a 30 percent reservation for female candidates inB.Tech/B.Plan/B.Arch/MBA/MCA/Integrated MBA.

Q. What is the registration fee for OJEE 2020? What will be the fee in case of a combination of papers?

A. OJEE 2020 registration fee is Rs 1000. In case, candidates are applying for a combination of papers such as M.Tech and MBA or MBA and MCA then the fee will be Rs 1500.

The fee can be remitted via Debit/Credit Card/Netbanking in case of online mode of payment and through e-challan of SBI in case of offline mode. No application form will be successfully submitted without fee payment.

Q. What is Special OJEE 2020?

A. Special OJEE is organised for all the candidates who missed the OJEE 2020 Phase I exam and for filling-up all the vacant seats in engineering, management, and pharmacy college.

A. OJEE is a popular state level entrance exam which is organised once a year for admission into various undergraduate and post-graduate courses in the state of Odisha.

Q. Can I pay the OJEE application fee offline?

A. No, the OJEE 2020 application fee can only be paid online through Net Banking, debit card or credit card. 

Q. What should I do if there is error in my OJEE admit card?

A. OJEE admit card is an important document that has to be carried to the exam center. Candidates will not be allowed in the exam center without the admit card. Hence, if there is any error in the admit card it must be immediately reported to the OJEE Cell. 

Q. Can I get an exam center for OJEE in cities other than Odisha?

A. No, OJEE is a state-level examination that is held only in the state of Odisha.
