What is MICAT?

MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) is the online entrance test for MICA‘s flagship course Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C). The programme focuses on Strategic Marketing and Communication and the specialisations include:

  • Brand Management

  • Advertising Management

  • Marketing Research and Analytics

  • Media Management

  • Digital Communication Management

MICAT exam is conducted in two phases. MICAT I is conducted in December and MICAT II is conducted in February. The exam dates of MICAT 2019-20 are out and registrations for MICAT – I has begun.

MICAT Eligibility Criteria

  • To appear in MICAT the candidates must have appeared(or appearing) in CAT 2019 / XAT 2020 /GMAT (2018 onwards). 
  • They must also have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Candidates appearing for final year Bachelor’s degree examinations are also eligible to apply

Admission process

STEP 1: MICAT application form

To apply for the exam, candidates need to fill the registration form and pay the test fees of Rs 1965 online.

The registration form can be accessed online on the official website. After successful registration, aspirants will receive an email containing the MICA ID and MICA password. This MICA ID will be used for all future correspondence and login purposes.

STEP 2: MICAT admit card

Admit cards for MICAT 2019-2020 will be issued to the candidates who shall have registered successfully and met the eligibility criteria. Selected candidates will be required to download their admit cards from the official website.

STEP 3: MICAT  exam

MICAT will be held twice in a particular admission cycle. The candidates will be tested on Psychometric, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness, Divergent-Convergent Reasoning and Descriptive Test.

STEP 4: MICAT result

MICAT result will be announced online on the official website. Test takers can check their scores by using their login credentials. Post the result, selected candidates will be invited for GE/PI at various MICA campuses.

STEP 5: Group Exercise/Personal Interview

Shortlisting of GE/PI candidates will be done on the basis of MICAT-1 and /or 2 or better of the two scores if a candidate has taken both MICAT I and MICAT II.

MICAT Exam Day Guidelines

Here are some points that you must keep in mind for the exam day:

  • Don’t forget to carry a print out of your admit card. Digital, scanned or photocopy of the admit card is not acceptable as valid document

  • Reach your exam centre 1 hour before the reporting time

  • Do not carry electronic items to the exam venue. You are also advised to not carry valuable items

Along with the MICAT admit card, carry a photo ID as a secondary identity proof. You can carry any of the following documents as your ID proof:

  • Aadhar card

  • PAN card

  • Voter ID card

  • Passport

  • Driver’s license

MICAT 2020 Dates

MICAT 2019-2020 exam dates have been announced. The registration process for MICAT 2019 (I) has begun and the exam will be held on December 7, 2019.

MICAT 2020 Admit Card

MICAT 2019 (I) admit card will be available for download on December 3, 2019 while MICAT 2019 (II) admit card can be downloaded on January 22, 2020. MICAT admit card is issued to registered candidates online. Candidates can download their MICAT admit card by using MICAT login id. 

The candidates must note that MICAT I and MICAT II admit cards are different and have to be downloaded on the scheduled dates separately. MICAT 2019 will be held on December 7 and MICAT 2020 will be held on January 25

MICAT 2020 Pattern

MICAT exam is conducted in online mode. The question paper consists of about 94-105 questions to be solved in 2.5 hours. The format of the questions in MICAT are both objective and descriptive. Read more about MICAT exam patter below:

MICAT 2020 Syllabus

The MAT question paper is divided into three sections. Out of the three sections, two are unique to MICAT. Given below is the syllabus of all the three sections of MICAT 2020.

Section A: Psychometric Test

  • Psychometric Test is the first section of the MICAT question paper. This section is basically a personality test, which tests the candidate’s thought process and problem-solving ability.

MICAT 2020 Results

Result of MICAT 2019 (I) will be announced on December 23, 2019 and MICAT II result will be announced on February 14, 2020. The final result after Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds will be announced at the end of March 2020. MICAT II result will be followed by announcement of shortlisted candidates for GE/PI round.
