What is LSAT India?

Law School Admission Test (LSAT) – India is an entrance exam conducted by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. The test is conducted to shortlist law aspirants for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate level courses offered at more than 85 law colleges in India

LSAT India 2020 Eligibility Criteria

For appearing in the law entrance exam, LSAC has not mentioned any specific eligibility criteria however, candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria for UG and PG law courses offered at the accepting law colleges as under:

LSAT India 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing in LSAT India exam should be careful of few things on the exam day as under:

1. Reach the allotted test centres for LSAT India at least an hour before the exam timings so as to avoid the last-minute rush

2. Carry LSAT India admit card along with any of the following documents in original

  • UIDAI / Aadhaar Card (card is valid and not the Aadhaar enrollment slip)
  • Passport
  • Election Card / Voter ID
  • PAN Card
  • Driver’s License
  • Reserved category certificate with photograph
  • School/ College/ University ID proof with photograph 
  • Employee ID with photograph and signature of the candidate
  • Class 12th or University Hall Ticket with a photograph

3. Also, carry your own stationery items such as two HB pencils, eraser and sharpener. 

4. Do not carry items such as mobile phones, headphones, calculators etc. as things other than above-mentioned stationery and IDs are prohibited. 

5. Follow the instructions of the exam invigilator to avoid being banned due to misconduct.

Q: How LSAT India is different from other law entrance exams such as CLAT and AILET?

A: LSAT India is a standardised test with a uniform pattern and single question paper for admissions to five-year integrated LLB courses, three-year LLB course, LLM course or PhD course in Law. Candidates can take the exam for admissions to more than 85 private law colleges in India. Whereas, CLAT and AILET have separate question papers for UG and PG courses. On the basis of CLAT scores, admissions are offered at 22 NLUs and accepting colleges, check the list of NLUs here. Q: Is there any sectional time limit to attempt the LSAT India exam?

A: Yes, each section has a time limit of 35 minutes and candidates have to attempt the paper in the same duration. 

Q: What subjects are included in the LSAT India question paper?

A: The question paper of LSAT India is based on – Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning 1 & 2 and Reading Comprehension. 

Q: Is there a mock test facility available to prepare for the LSAT India exam?

A: Candidates obtaining 80+ percentile can get admissions to top law colleges. LSAC releases LSAT India results as percentile scores calculated on the basis of scores obtained by the candidate and number of candidates appeared for the exam.
