What is AP LAWCET?

Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (APLAWCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admissions to law courses offered at Andhra Pradesh Universities and their affiliated colleges. The exam is conducted in the Computer-Based Test mode for a duration of 90 minutes and the test language is English and Telugu for both five-year LLB and three-year LLB courses.

AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates seeking admissions to law courses on the basis of AP LAWCET exam need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as under:

Five-year Integrated LLB course
  • Candidates should have completed their two-year Intermediate examination/ Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
  • They should have secured at least 45% marks in Class 12th examination.
  • Those belonging to the BC category need to have at least 42% marks and those belonging to SC/ ST category need to have at least 40% marks in the qualifying exam.
Three-year LLB course
  • Candidates should have completed their graduation or postgraduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates are 45%, for BC category are 42% marks and for SC/ ST category candidates, the qualifying marks are 40%/.

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will release the notification of AP LAWCET 2020 in the last week of February 2020. APLAWCET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card for AP LAWCET 2020 will be released on the official website of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The admit card will be issued to only those candidates who will apply for the exam before the last date of application. Candidates can download the admit card by using login details i.e. registration and date of birth. The candidates appearing for the examination should download their admit card at least 2-3 days before the exam date.

APLAWCET 2020 Syllabus

There is no prescribed syllabus for APLAWCET 2019 exam. The test paper is divided into 3 sections – Part A, Part B and Part C. The medium of instruction of APLAWCET exam is English and Telugu. Part A will consist of questions on General Knowledge and Metal Ability. On the other hand, Part B would comprise of questions on Current Affairs and Part C on Aptitude for the Study of Law.

APLAWCET 2020 Counselling

AP LAWCET counselling 2019 for five-year integrated law course and three-year LLB course is conducted in offline as well as online mode. The counselling has begun on October 28, 2019, with verification of documents and web options entry by the candidates. As part of the , candidates need to appear for document verification as per their ranks and thereafter select their preferred college. APSCHE released the list of participating college, course fees and availability of seats on November 3, 2019.
